Two officials of Comic Relief, a charity project organization of the UK are in Liberia on an evaluation mission.
Titise Kode, International Grants Portfolio Manager and Kamela Usmani, Program Manager for people affected by conflict at Comic Relief will visit several counties in central, north and western Liberia.
The two officials told the Liberia YMCA website, “they were in Liberia to access a number of projects funded by Comic Relief.”
The visit according to Titise Kode will enable them engage commercial motorcyclists who are involved in mediation skills and livelihood through the Liberia YMCA.
She said they will also be interacting with some young women in Zorzor, eastern Liberia, who are undergoing livelihood skills training.
Titise continued, “Comic Relief assistance to the Liberia YMCA through grants has spanned a number of years, and we are here to see the number of achievements the Liberia YMCA has made.”
According to her, young people in Liberia have strived in rebuilding their country so as to see peace and democracy prevail and she is anxious to see young people leading the process.
The International Grants Program Manager, Kamela Usmani said they will also meet with the steering group in communities where their sponsored programmes are to discuss their involvement, observe YMCA youth radio programs as they contribute to good governance.
She said Comic Relief has been involved with the Liberia YMCA for quite a while and has been impressed with work of the Liberia YMCA in the past.
